Given the content of this post, it is probably appropriate to begin with a disclaimer: I am definitely biased in my opinion of AI generated blogs vs human created blogs – after all it is one of the main reasons I created this platform...
As this platform is still in its infancy, I put a LOT of time and effort into crawling the internet in search for high quality, non-AI generated blogs. Once found, I fire off my cold pitch email to the blog’s author in the hopes they see the mutual benefit of becoming a Sentient Blogs author.
But, for every one good quality website, there is at least ten others that I have to view and disregard. The instant eye roll I make when I see a clearly AI generated featured image (I am talking ones where a person has 15 fingers and an extra foot) – but of course, they are the easy ones to find and disregard. Sometimes it is not initially obvious until I am a few paragraphs deep into a blog post when I am hit with the disappointment of what is clearly AI generated content.
Again, I am biased and maybe overreacting, but I immediately lose respect for the author and their website – the credibility of the site’s content is reduced to zero.

And then the relief and joy when I finally come across the website that is clearly created by a human with a passion. The blog posts are genuinely enjoyable to read, not only because I, as a general rule, enjoy reading and learning new things, but also because the commitment, time and passion that so clearly went into making the posts are evident.
The meaning and feelings behind the words is certainly something I took for granted pre-AI, but now I really notice it and feel it. Not only that, but unlike the AI generated blogs, I read the human created blog with the knowledge and appreciation that this content took real minutes and hours of planning, drafting and refining to get to where I am reading it.
My fear of AI generated content flooding the blogging space is real and is evidenced by the 10 to 1 ratio I experience. But my fear turns to optimism as I genuinely believe that I am not alone in my reaction to reading AI generated blogs versus human created blogs. The flow on to that is platforms such as Sentient Blogs that supports and promotes human content and its authors will eventually get the exposure and viewership that it/they deserve.
The quote inserted within the footer of this site is as true now as ever:
“As we journey through the rise and development of AI, I believe people will begin to crave real, authentic human-made content“
If you are:
- An author that is considering turning to AI to generate your blogs in return for higher output – I implore you to reconsider. Stick to quality over quantity!
- An author that is passionate about writing, about your niche and you are resisting the urge to turn to AI to generate your blogs – I implore you to resist the urge and continue on your current path, it will be worth it in the long run!
What are your thoughts? Do you share my disappointment in coming across an AI blog and joy when coming across a human created blog OR is my bias really warping my views – let me know in the comments.
You’re not overreacting at all, it’s very sad what blogging has become. But perhaps it’s precisely the emergence of AI blogs that now gives real ones more meaning. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Also very ironic that I just got an ad with a clearly AI generated image on this blog LOL
“perhaps it’s precisely the emergence of AI blogs that now gives real ones more meaning.”
Agree!!
Bloody ads! lol
