Position Statement: This is not a crusade against AI.

Having launched Sentient Blogs just over 2 months ago, I have noticed a recurring question being asked:

“Are you anti AI? You know AI is here to stay just like the invention of computers, the internet and mobile phones”.

So, to clarify – I completely agree that AI is here to stay. I and the Sentient Blogs platform is not anti-AI. I think AI has incredible capabilities where it can make life (generally speaking) better, easier and more advanced. Its ability to analyse and evaluate massive volumes of data and then output a logical and accurate response to your specific problem/prompt is mind blowing stuff.

The USA Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced in April 2025 that it will be phasing out animal testing and instead use AI. And this is just one of many examples (the list of which will only continue to grow) where AI is beneficial for humans and beyond.

Personally, I use AI to help me troubleshoot problems and assist with ideas. I make a personal rule though that I will use my own “trouble shooting abilities” first prior to asking AI. When AI gives me the response, I make sure I understand it before applying it. Why? Because if you don’t use it, you lose it.

So now that I have sung the praises of AI and given examples of my personal uses, I need to clarify the “Non-AI” from the Sentient Blogs platform perspective.

For all the good that AI has, one thing it will forever lack is the ability to convey the ‘human touch’. I believe that this, for some, is a massively underappreciated and overlooked step within the content creation realm, especially writing.

I see a lot of posts and articles of people celebrating how they have increased their output by anywhere between 2 times to 10 times thanks to AI. They are automating everything including DM and comment replies – this has increased their analytics and freed up more time for other things, life is great and things are booming… But at what long-term cost? Short-term gain for long-term pain maybe?

I genuinely believe (so much so I dedicated a lot of time, energy and money into this platform) that there will be a surge for AI generated content and then once the novelty has worn off, there will be this sudden desire for the real human content. The variations of tone, sarcasm, wit, 5 senses and even small grammatical mistakes will be sought out and appreciated.

I think about this in illustration terms as a row of town houses all painted the same shade of grey with the same black picket fence, letterbox on the same gate and the same lime tree in the front yard fruiting the same bland limes. Then in the middle of these townhouses sits this bright red painted house with a white picket fence, a standalone letterbox, lemon, mandarin and orange trees. Which will become the tourist attraction?

In summary: Not Anti-AI as a general rule, it undeniably has its uses and advantages. It is also here to stay in the same way laptops and iPhones are. But as for the Sentient Blogs platform, my focus is human created content, written by humans, for humans. We will be the red townhouse🏡
