Sentient Blogs – My 2 Whys
"As we journey through the rise and development of AI, I believe people will begin to crave real, authentic human-made content"

Why #1
Like many of you, I have watched with curiosity over the last couple of years at the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and more specifically large language model AI (LLM-AI) such as ChatGPT.
It feels like only yesterday that they launched ChatGPT, and within only a matter of months we watched as its capabilities increased and improved to the point that we see it at today. And with these rapid improvements it seems only inevitable that today’s version of ChatGPT will be obsolete with 6 months.
And of course that’s just ChatGPT, it feels like every other month there is a new AI program being released to the public. Now we have Copilot by Microsoft, Gemini by Google, Grok by X an even inbuilt AI within new mobile phones and laptops and security systems and essentially anything else that has a computer chip in it!

Now, I admit it, I’ve enjoyed using these new platforms and testing out their capabilities to see how they can make my life easier, better, and more efficient. Whether it be suggestions on how to improve your CV or even asking it for some date night recommendations, there is absolutely no doubt that AI is a useful tool that is only going to get better and I believe overall it will be to the betterment of the human race.
(There is also just as good of an argument for those that believe it will lead to worse outcomes for the human race).
However, while I enjoy how AI is able to make certain areas and tasks in my life easier and more efficient, I also fear that if left unchecked, AI has the potential to stamp out the unique, personalised and nuanced intricacies that humans have to offer, especially within the creativity space. When it comes to blogs, I for one much prefer the idea of reading something that is written by a person with the intention of another person reading it and gaining some sort of insight from it. I would much prefer to get a genuine review of a product or a tried and tested food recipe or a travel guide that has been written by a real person with real human experience and advice to offer over that of a robots 🤖.
In order to combat AI generated blogs that tell us what they think we want to hear, on Setient Blogs, you will only read blogs created by Humans for Humans! As we journey through the rise and development of AI, I believe people will begin to crave real, authentic human-made content.
Why #2
In order to keep up with the expansion, capabilities and popularity of AI, search engines such as Google have now incorporated AI into their engines which ultimately changes the way search results are displayed. Unfortunately, this has resulted in small scale blog sites being pushed further down the search results page, sometimes off page 1 and essentially into the abyss.
Why does this matter? Firstly, most bloggers rely on a small amount of revenue that is generated through advertisement on their sites. The more visitors a person has to their site, the more revenue they will generate. This revenue of course is what allows them to continue to blog whatever their passion is about. So by no longer ranking highly in search results, this has a direct impact on those individual bloggers by significantly reducing website traffic (visitors).
A blog post by ‘Search Engine Land’ delves into greater detail about the impacts of AI on Google Search Results.
Secondly, it ties back into my first ‘Why’ – results are becoming AI generated or massively favouring large corporation websites (e.g. Forbes), meaning we are losing the everyday person’s human touch.
The goal of creating Sentient Blogs is to allow guest authors (who more often than not operate their own blog sites) to write blogs for the site and encourage them to incorporate links to their own site. These are known within the search engine optimisation (SEO) world as backlinks. To break it down in a really simplified way; the better your SEO score, the more likely you are to rank higher in search result pages. By encouraging guest authors to include backlinks to their own site, this improves their SEO score.

We the people hold the power – If my ‘2 whys’ resonate with you – you can help by supporting this site and its guest authors. How? Once you’ve finished reading their blog on this site, check out their own linked website and see what other blogs they have to offer. SEO scores are impacted by a lot of different factors, one being website visits but also engagement during the visit, the more you can interact with the website (e.g. leaving a comment on the blog) the better the engagement. And lastly, don’t forget to follow us and your favourite guest author on their linked socials, every little bit helps, even if you don’t see it.
Here’s to the success of Sentient Blogs, to its guest authors and ultimately to humans 👨👩👧👦.
